Mortgages for Dummies: When to Refinance

Filed under: Property Resources — @ 3:20 pm

Mortgage Refinancing is something every homeowner experiences soon or later. Mortgage refinancing is simply trading your current mortgage in for a better one. The motivation for refinancing is to get a better interest rate, lower payments, better conditions, or cash equity out of your home.

Refinancing is not a smart move for everyone. There are expenses and fees you will have to pay when refinancing your mortgage. These fees and expenses are very similar to the ones you paid when you took out your first mortgage. These expenses include a survey, appraisals, underwriting, and attorney fees.

In order to benefit from refinancing your mortgage you need to find an interest rate that is at least 2% lower than the rate you are currently paying. There are circumstances where you could refinance for less than a 2% improvement; if you need to cash out equity in your home you could refinance for a higher amount.

Here are several reasons a savvy homeowner would refinance their mortgage.

1. Improve Your Interest Rate

2. Lower Your Monthly Payment

3. Refinance Your ARM to a Fixed Interest Rate

4. Shorten Your Term Length to Build Equity Faster

5. Cash Out Equity

There are many mistakes to be made when refinancing a mortgage. You will need to do your homework before refinancing in order to avoid these mistakes. To learn more sign up for a free mortgage guidebook.

Virgin Media’s New Broadband Service Being Used by Hackers

Hackers have been making full use of the new and extremely fast broadband service that has been launched by Virgin Media. The service usually referred to as Virgin Media XXL promises to offer a speed of 50Mb to its users.

It has just come to the notice of the provider that hackers have been helping themselves to the new fibre optic package by using modems that have been reconfigured. Apparently, the hackers have taken a close look at the new modems being distributed by Virgin Media and have come up with exact imitations of these modems. The replica modems are then used to gain access to the broadband service with a speed of 30Mb.

If reports by TechWatch are to be believed, over a thousand illegal users have connections with a speed of 30Mb, even though the package that they have subscribed does not offer these superfast speeds. A possible reason for the hackers to resort to these actions could be that the Virgin Media XXL is a premium service, which comes at a much higher price as compared to the regular packages. Has this made you feel like checking your broadband speed, click here for a broadband speed check.

The hackers could end up in serious trouble as the law lays down clear rules against such actions. The courts have the power to heavily fine these individuals or sentence them to prison. No comments have been obtained from Virgin Media though as to how it plans to approach the offenders.

Filed under: Web Stuff — @ 1:10 am

Don’t be fooled! Are you considering making money with your own Internet business? If so, read very carefully…You Must Have a Website.

There are tons of marketers trying to convince would-be entrepreneurs that you will be able to make money online without a website by purchasing their product.

Sure, you can make a few dollars here and a few dollars there, but I’m talking about serious money – the big leagues.

Even successful eBay sellers use their own websites as a companion to their eBay business.

One reason that marketers tell you that you don’t need a website is to make it sound as though running an Internet business is easy. They want you to believe it takes very little effort to run an Internet business to convince you to buy their product. If you want to make serious money with an Internet business, it will take more effort than these marketers are telling you.

If you know nothing about developing your own website, do not let what I’m telling you scare you. You can always hire someone to develop your website for you. But, learning to develop your own website is not that difficult. There are literally thousands of resources on the Internet that will guide you through the process. There are also many software packages that make developing your own website as easy as creating a Microsoft Word document.

Having your own website requires basically three things: your own domain name (www.yourcompany.com), content (what you have on your website), and hosting space (where your website physically resides so Internet users can find it). Not having your own website requires that you find another source of income.

Starting and running your own Internet business can be a daunting task that requires great effort. Don’t be fooled into believing you can do it without a website. If you’re serious about making money online, you must have a website.
