Bryan Ellis comments on Virtual Real Estate Investing

Virtual Real Estate Investing” is a relatively new concept. Everything from using the internet as an avenue to make more money in real estate to online games such as SecondLife seem to be included in the popular definition of this term.

In order to figure out the truth of the matter, I sought out Bryan Ellis of BryanEllis.com, whose experience in the fledgling industry is truly impressive.

Ellis says he adopted the term “virtual real estate investing” sometime before Y2K after he realized that making money online is conceptually very similar to making money with physical real estate.

An example of the similar nature of “virtual” and “physical” real estate Bryan Ellis likes to point out is the methods of making a profit from domain names compared to physical real estate. “There’s a huge difference between a website and a piece of real estate, but the ways you can profit from them are similar: ‘flipping’, rental/leasing, advertising sales, etc…all of these apply to both markets” he states.

The similarities really are obvious. After all, if you own a valuable piece of real estate, it’s “valuable” because other people are interested in that specific piece of property. Likewise, if you own a desirable domain name, others will find value in it because it serves their purposes. In either case, you could sell or lease the asset and turn it into cash.

Often new website owners ask me how to get traffic to their new creation. Some have been known to stare at their computer in an attempt to will visitors to the site. The truth is, the Internet is evolving every second of every day. And with that, it becomes more difficult to establish a viable presenceor does it? Step One: Preparation

Before going out to proclaim the glory that is your website, first make sure it’s in tiptop shape. Was your website carefully and professionally constructed? That includes content copy. It’s vital that your copy (the text on your website) be written well, including a logical flow, clarity, good sentence structure, wise word choices and proper grammar/punctuation. Studies reveal the average Internet visitor is getting more sophisticated and expects features, such as proper language use (whether English or another language). Fail in this area and you’ll lose business. It’s that plain and simple.

Now that your copy is humming, how is your search engine optimization? Did you at least look into some basics? Tackle Internet Marketing Head-on with Your Passion!

Over the last 3-4 years the web has exploded with a very large number of people trying their hardest to earn some extra or a full income with MLM, affiliate and product marketing. With such a large number of people in this space the competition is fierce! However, the good news is that the global scope the internet has just begun and the possibilities for the individual have also skyrocketed.

Like many in this space I was struggling with the same questions 3 years ago when I started. I was excited and anxious to get my feet wet and had very high hopes. But, I soon discovered that if you move too fast and don’t sit back an evaluate what you really want you can waste a lot of time and money. I know I did! Thankfully, with a significant amount of time and effort I was able to make back what I’ve put into it and earn some more.

To tackle internet marketing head-on you must pick something that you are passionate about! Stop and ask yourself this question: Am I going to market to marketers or market products and services? What I mean by this is – are you going to create new marketing strategies and/or be a marketing affiliate, or, are you going to create and/or sell a product?? Make sure you answer this first.

Then, seriously ask yourself: Am I going to get into an online business that I enjoy? This is important!! Don’t try to earn extra income just to earn income – do something you are really interested in and love and stick to it! I suggest getting away from your desk or computer and taking a walk – try to imagine what it would be like if your online internet business was a success. What would you really want to be doing that drives you? If you love marketing then do marketing – if you love coffee then do coffee. The possibilities are endless! It’s easy to get excited about a money making idea and forget your own passions.

Along with passion if there is one thing to remember for any online marketing endeavor, content is king! You are better off creating a site loaded with content than a site with great design.
